The Solstice Market celebrated its grand opening Saturday with a Summer Solstice Eve event that drew visitors to the Hartman Building for live music, local vendors, and family-friendly activities.

The new owner, Danielle Gilpin, cut the ribbon at 11 a.m., accompanied by her staff and family.

“I am excited to introduce it to the community and be here for everyone,” said Gilpin.

After months of preparation, organizers welcomed the community to the new market, which featured face painting for children, fresh-cut flowers, vintage finds, locally grown berries, coffee, ice cream, baked goods, and the debut of made-to-order grab-and-go sandwiches.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes these last few months, and we’re excited to finally celebrate with all of you,” event organizers said in a statement. “Stop by for live music, local vendors, and so much more.”

The market aims to highlight the growing vibrancy of the downtown area. The Hartman Building has welcomed several new businesses in recent months, and Saturday’s event gave visitors a chance to explore them. Organizers encouraged attendees to visit Atlas Bookstore, Shayla Lynn’s Jewelry, and Fox & Fern Boutique while discovering everything happening on that end of town.

The celebration coincided with the approach of the summer solstice, creating a festive atmosphere with sunshine and community spirit. Vendors offered a variety of local products, from seasonal produce to handmade goods, while live music provided entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening.

With its mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, the Solstice Market is positioned to strengthen the local economy and serve as a gathering place for the community during the summer months and beyond.
